What information does Allergen Inside collect?

Personal Information:

Allergen Inside uses your first and last name, email address, physical address, phone number and cellular carrier service in order to contact you with food safety and allergy alerts regarding the items you have purchased. Allergen Inside does not sell, transfer or use your personal identifiable information in any other way. Allergen Inside uses a unique random identifier generated by our system to represent you in all interactions, so that your personal information is completely isolated from your purchase data.

Store Registration Information:

When you connect your grocery stores on Allergen Inside, you may be asked for the user name & password you use to access the store website. We will use this information only for accessing the invoice and itemized purchase data.

Information From Your Purchases:

In order to provide the food safety and allergen alerts to you, Allergen Inside collects historic and future purchases from the grocery stores and retailers that you’ve chosen to connect.. For example, if you connect a store account through the service, we will collect product level transactional information from your account. The data collected is strictly limited to: Date of Transaction, Store Name, Product Description (of items you’ve purchased), Quantity Purchased, UPC, Price Paid, Unit of Measure/Weight, Ingredients, May Contain Statements and Nutritional Information. No transactions can be made with a user’s account credentials.

 

How Does Allergen Inside Use Your Data?

We use the information we collect from your store purchases to inform you of any allergens present in the food products you purchase and to also notify you of any food safety recalls pertaining to the products that you have purchased.

For market research:

Allergen Inside uses the anonymous purchase data collected with our partner companies who may process the data to support their own market research reports based on data they collect through other outlets. Our trusted partners will never know whose purchase data they are viewing, there are no names, email address or personal information attached to data.

How long does Allergen Inside retain your personal information?

When you use our service, Allergen Inside will collect and retain, both the information you provide directly and the information we obtain from your stores, for as long as you are an active user of our service. Should you decide to cancel your account or disconnect a store, we will discontinue the collection of information from your store on your behalf. We reserve the right to retain the information collected up to the date of your cancellation of your account or store connection. Your purchase data will always be maintained under the same security and privacy practices for active Allergen Inside members.
